Old Persons Action Program (OPAP) offers a broad range of support services and social activities for seniors living in the Redcliffe Peninsula, Deception Bay, Mango Hill and North Lakes areas. We aim to reduce social isolation by providing programs and activities which cover a broad range of interests.
We can offer support with

  • Attending medical, hospital and specialist appointments.
  • Visiting with family and friends when separated by distance and/or lack of transport.
  • Support when attending social and community activities, sport venues such as golf, bowls and movies.
  • Assisting with shopping.
  • Walking for exercise and mental health.
  • Small group outings.
  • Assistance to attend legal appointments.

We can also provide information, advocacy and referrals for local residents aged 50 years and over and not in paid employment.



Services

Morning Teas

Morning teas are held every Monday at Lamington Drive, Redcliffe between 10.00am and 12 noon. No need to book, just join us for a cuppa and a chat.
Cost: $2.00

A guest speaker is available on the last Monday of each month.

Bus Trips

Older Persons Action Program organises affordable bus trips every Tuesday to places of interest. This is a pick up at your door service. Alternatively, you can try Lilian’s Recycled Teenager bus trips.

Flexi-Ride

Flexi-Ride is a Community Transport Service available to members of OPAP.

Return on the Redcliffe Peninsula for Peninsula residents (quotes are given for other destinations at time of booking). Parking and tolls as applicable.
Cost: $14.00

Bookings

48 hours minimum notice required. Monday to Friday 9.00am to 12 noon.

Registration

$5.00 annual registration fee is required to access Flexi-Ride and bus trips etc organised by Older Persons Action Program. A newsletter is posted every 3 months to keep you updated with news, information and bus trips.

This is a one on one support service available to Seniors aged 60 and over including Indigenous Australians aged 50 and over.

Please note this is not a domestic/personal care/nursing service.
