SUMMARY:Smoking Ceremony - Kallangur
DESCRIPTION:Join Encircle as we celebrate National Reconciliation Week 2026 with a traditional smoking ceremony and water blessing followed by morning tea. \nLed by a respected Kabi Kabi Elder\, this celebration of culture\, healing and community will feature a smoking ceremony and water blessing. A smoking ceremony cleanses and creates a space of respect and connection while the water blessing invites peace\, harmony and strength into our community. \nThis smoking ceremony will be held during National Reconciliation Week 2026. \nThe theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In\, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. \nAll In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change. \nThe theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity\, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people\, who have carried the weight of championing\, explaining and acting for far too long. \nReconciliation will not happen by itself\, and it will not happen without all of us. \nWhen: Tuesday 26th May 2026\nTime: 10.00am – 11.30am\nWhere: Kallangur Neighbourhood Centre (51 Marsden Road\, Kallangur)\nRSVP: Bookings essential for catering purposes. Click here to register.
