Encircle Community Services is seeking a passionate and experienced community service professional to undertake the role of Project Officer within the community development team.

Central to its operations, Encircle’s team of volunteers ensures that centre-based services, groups and programs are delivered from Pine Rivers, Kallangur and Redcliffe Neighbourhood Centres.

About the Team:

Encircle Housing and Neighbourhoods team deliver a range of Commonwealth and Queensland Government funded programs, working collaboratively with other service providers, peer and community networks, and local government agencies.

With a variety of programs, services, events, and activities delivered through the year, our operations depend on attracting, matching volunteers to our programs and services, and supporting their experience as a volunteer. It is crucial that Encircle’s operations are guided by frameworks, systems, and processes that are contemporary, effective, and efficient – adding value to the work of our many volunteers and maximising the benefits of their generosity.

About this Role:

The role will design and implement Encircle’s Community Services volunteer framework. Informed by best practice in volunteer management, Encircle’s policies and procedures and ‘Human Service Quality Framework’ accreditation, the framework will guide all business areas that benefit from volunteer contributions in the delivery of community programs, groups, services and events. The volunteer framework will inform the volunteer cycle and contribute to meaningful and effective services. Working collaboratively as part of the Community Development Team and reporting to the Neighbourhoods Coordinator, the role will engage with all areas of the organisation in adopting a co-design approach.

The Project Officer will:

Framework design

  • Review and analyze volunteer management literature and best practice.
  • Engage with Encircle business areas to understand existing volunteer processes and requirements. Consult with senior management team and program leads, to scope, design or review and implement a volunteer framework that covers the volunteer cycle

Operational

  • Promote, raise awareness, and educate Encircle staff on aspects of the volunteer program to maximise partnerships, increase awareness, participation, and utilisation of volunteers.
  • Represent the organisation related to volunteers and volunteering.
  • Identify and actively participate in continuous improvement activities.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Demonstrate effective design and implementation of a sustainable volunteer framework that is aligned with best practice in volunteer management and Encircle policy & procedures.
  • Facilitate socialization of the Volunteer framework and coordinate its adoption in all business areas.
  • Ensure that tools and resources are readily available and accessible.
  • Design and deliver robust reporting and evaluation processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community or Human Services and/or project management will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in volunteer coordination/management and project management is required.
