About Pine Rivers Community Legal Service (PRCLS).
PRCLS is a generalist community legal service providing free information, legal assistance and referral, support with representation and casework, community education, and advocacy for vulnerable clients in the Moreton Bay and North Brisbane regions who are facing legal problems.
We offer services from the PRCLS office in Strathpine, the Caboolture Hub, and from the Bribie Island, Deception Bay, Kallangur, and Redcliffe Neighbourhood Centres. PRCLS provides the Domestic and Family Violence Duty Lawyer Service at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court and assists with the delivery of this service at the Sandgate and Redcliffe Courthouses.
The Community Family Mediation Service provides mediation and facitialted dispute resolution services for vulernable and disadvantaged people in relation to a range of family law matters.
Our profesional staff of qualified and experienced lawyers are supported by an active group of committed, local volunteers – many of whom have been volunteering with PRCLS for 10+ years. Our team also provides placement support for students from several South East Quensland universities assisting these students to gain first-hand practical experience as they apply knowledge gained through their studies
About this Role
Reporting to the PRCLS Manager, you will work autonomously and as part of a professional, high-performing team to:
- provide legal advice, services, and programs across a broad range of law including, consumer law, credit and debt, family law and domestic and family violence.
- contribute to the development and implementation of operational plans, procedures, systems, and processes that guide our activities and services,
- support clients and our community from multiple sites across Moreton Bay region,
- represent Encircle and our legal program in our community, with key stakeholders, partners, as well as professional and community networks,
You will bring significant, relevant qualifications and experience, including:
- Law Degree (required).
- Current unsupervised Queensland Law Society Practicing Certificate (required).
- Domestic and Family Violence Duty Lawyer Accreditation (well regarded).
- National Mediation Accreditation (well regarded).
- Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner Accreditation (well regarded).
- Minimum of 2 Years post admission experience in generalist practice.
- Experience working in the Community or Not for Profit sector (well regarded).
