Hirameki is a Japanese word that translates to ‘flash of inspiration’. This workshop will show you how to transform ink blobs, smudges, mistakes and meanderings into a meditative practice of markmaking, telling a layered story with ink, charcoal and imagination. It is suitable for people aged 16 and over.

This workshop is part of the JOY CONNECTION: Inspiring creative experiences for your wellbeing across the Moreton Bay Region.

Artist Michelle Spencer is a painter, ceramicist and author from the northside of Brisbane. She is also a yoga and meditation teacher and loves to combine creativity and relaxation.

The workshop will begin and close with a simple guided meditation practice.
